LicensingFlexPDE version 6 is available in three license configurations.

Evaluation
- The Evaluation configuration
is free. Specially keyed problem scripts can be run with the full capability of FlexPDE.
(You can change any numeric item in a keyed demo problem without invalidating the key!)
Unkeyed scripts that you create will be restricted to five simultaneous equations and 100,
800 or 1600 mesh nodes in 1D, 2D and 3D, respectively. A vast number of meaningful problems
of science and engineering can be addressed within these limits. The Evaluation
configuration can be unlocked to Professional mode by the purchase of a professional license.

Student
- The Student configuration is free. The Student configuration runs in Evaluation mode
and cannot be unlocked by a professional license key. The Student configuration is
available as version 5 only.
- Professional - The Professional configuration unleashes the full power of FlexPDE version 6. It has effectively unlimited mesh size, and unlimited number of simultaneous equations (subject to available computer resources). The professional configuration can be licensed with 1D capability only, 1D+2D, or 1D+2D+3D power.

For those who wish to evaluate FlexPDE more completely with their own problems, a free 30-day Professional 3D license is available.

Internet Key - The standard method of licensing FlexPDE Professional is by internet activation.
This mode of licensing generates a text key that locks the execution of FlexPDE to a specific computer.
Access to the internet is required on a periodic basis to validate the key. The key can be released from one
machine and reactivated on another without difficulty.
Note: this method has replaced the Software Key method.
Dongle - FlexPDE Professional can be configured to use a portable hardware key (dongle) for USB
(or parallel port by request). FlexPDE can be run on any machine that has the dongle installed in an appropriate
I/O port. There is a $50 surcharge for the dongle. Dongle surcharge is waived for upgrades of existing dongles.
Note: this method is not appropriate for use with Windows "Terminal Services".
Network Dongle - FlexPDE Professional can be configured to run in a networked mode. A single network
accessible computer is configured with a network dongle and a license manager application. Any other computer with
network access can then run FlexPDE, up to a specified maximum number of simultaneous users.
There is a $150 surcharge for the dongle. Dongle surcharge is waived for upgrades of existing dongles.
Note: this method is required for use with Windows "Terminal Services".
Software Key - On special request, Professional configurations can be licensed in the form of a
text key that locks the execution of FlexPDE to a specific computer. If you prefer a software license key,
you must first download and install the software and record the computer ID from the "Help | Register FlexPDE"
screen. Include the computer ID on the license application form. Your software key will be sent to you by Email.
Copy this key to the FlexPDE installation directory (you may need administrator privileges to do this).
Note: this method has been replaced with the Internet Key, and is only available in special circumstances.
