Transient RC charging behavior

To simulate charging transient of 2D capacitor consisting a lossy dielectric sandwiched between two metal plates with finite conductance, what would be the governing equation? Is there a sample script available. I am am still using FlexPDE4 but version probably doesn't matter in this question.

We do not have an example for this scenario. Our example of electric field in a capacitor is steady-state.

FlexPDE can be used in a large number of various fields and unfortunately we cannot be experts in all of them. A brief Google search does show a vast number of discussions of this topic. Perhaps one of them can give a good description of the governing equation.

If you are successful and your model is not proprietary, please consider donating your final script to us to be included in our samples along side our steady state model. Many of our scripts have been provided by users in various fields of study.
