Transient RC charging behavior

To simulate charging transient of 2D capacitor consisting a lossy dielectric sandwiched between two metal plates with finite conductance, what would be the governing equation? Is there a sample script available. I am am still using FlexPDE4 but version probably doesn't matter in this question.

We do not have an example for this scenario. Our example of electric field in a capacitor is steady-state.

FlexPDE can be used in a large number of various fields and unfortunately we cannot be experts in all of them. A brief Google search does show a vast number of discussions of this topic. Perhaps one of them can give a good description of the governing equation.
