Version 3.00 Platforms

Multi-Platform

With the introduction of  version 3.00,  FlexPDE goes multi-platform.  Our traditional Windows platform is supported, but in addition we now have the capability of supporting Unix, Linux and Macintosh.  A limited set of platforms (see below) will be released initially, with more added as we install and test them.  Let us know your favorite, so we can add it to our list!

License Methods

Dongle - FlexPDE Version 3.00 Professional by default uses a portable hardware key (dongle), either for parallel or serial port. FlexPDE can be run on any machine that has the dongle installed in an appropriate I/O port.
Software Key - For Professional configurations in special cases, the license is in the form of a text key that locks the execution of FlexPDE to a specific computer CPU.  The Student version also uses a software key, but it locks the license to the student's name, not to a specific computer.
Network - For Windows only, FlexPDE Professional can be configured to run in a networked mode.  A single computer in a subnet is configured with a parallel port dongle.  Any other computer in the subnet can then run FlexPDE, up to a specified maximum number of simultaneous users.
