Delineate 3D voronoi diagramme in FlexPDE

Dear colleagues,
Dear FlexPDE creators,

In 2D case, the Voronoi grains are created by connecting points of the Voronoi vertexes. However, in the 3D case along the z axis I can do the only extrusion (I can not create really irregular surface).
So, I wondering is it possible to create 3D Voronoi diagramme (like this http://www.wblut.com/blog/wp-content/20 ... oi3db2.jpg ) in the FlexPDE?

It may be possible to make this simplest 3D Voronoi cells with multiple merging layers, but it would be fairly difficult if possible at all in version 6. FlexPDE's extrusion model in 3D does not lend itself well to this kind of spatial construct.

Version 7 may have a better chance of doing this by importing a 3D surface mesh in OBJ format. This new feature allows for a much more diverse 3D geometry that extrusion does not work well with. You would have to generate the OBJ file from a separate CAD program like Rhino. There are a couple of simple examples of OBJ file import in our version 7 samples. You would need to create the three separate cells with shared faces (in a similar fashion to example "Samples | Usage | CAD_Import | cubes2_OBJImport.pde). You can download v7 from http://www.pdesolutions.com/sdmenu7.html and test it out in Lite mode, or get a trial license at http://www.pdesolutions.com/license.html.
