HI, Does FlexPDE allow calling of a parameter calculated in one region to another region? In my case, I want to use the flux calculated in region 5 for a calculation which uses that flux in region 1. (region 1 comes before region 5) Thanks |

Except for issues of quantum entanglement, "action at a distance" is generally frowned on in the philosophy of physics. It is inconsistent with relativity, for example. However, if you feel that there is justification for remote influence, there are a few ways to implement it in FlexPDE. 1) Use the VAL(expr, x1, y1) function to evaluate an expression at a fixed location (x1,y1). 2) Use the EVAL(expr, x,y) function to evaluate an expression at a flexible location (x,y). 3) Define a GLOBAL VARIABLE to carry the influence of average or integral values, evolving quantities or VAL() results to arbitrary locations. See all the above key words in the Help Index for further elucidation.
