Dear Mr. Nelson ;
I am wondering if you let me know wht element type flexpde uses in 2D and 3D meshes.
Is it 3 node linear triangular and 6 node linear nodetriangular prism in 2D and 3D respectively?
Regards,
Mehdi

Elements are triangles in 2D and tetrahedra in 3D.

The interpolation order is selected by the "Order" selector.

"Order=1" or "simplex" selects linear interpolation (2 nodes in 1D, 3 nodes in 2D and 4 nodes in 3d).

"Order=2" or "quadratic" selects quadratic interpolation (3, 6 and 10 nodes).

"Order=3" or "cubic" selects cubic interpolation (4, 9 and 20 nodes).

The default interpolation is quadratic (3, 6 and 10 nodes).

Node positions are shown in the documentation under "TRANSFER file format".
Or see www.pdesolutions.com/help/index.html?transferfileformat.html

Geometry in internal cells is assumed "simplex", except on curved boundaries, where the geometry is interpolated at full order (isoparametric). Geometry is isoparametric in all cells in moving mesh models.
