How do I generate plots that omit the data at the bottom like number of nodes, etc.?

Export the graphic in one of the optional formats (PNG, EMF, EPS) and edit with a graphic program such as PaintShop or Corel Draw (or Microsoft products for the foolhardy).
Or print the graphic and cut off the bottom of the page with a scissor.
