Hey,

I get this funky error message: "Bad link at (5.36445,-1.08386,0)" and it asks me if I'd like to "Continue" or "Edit". I'm not completely sure what's going on here. I've attached a piece of code which reproduces this error. It seems to be completely due to the geometry of my situation. I would like to know what's going on and possible ways to make the mesh generator succeed (if that is indeed what is failing). I note that I tried to add a feature near this point in the hope that I would jiggle the mesh a bit and make the bad point go away, but to no avail (that additional feature is currently commented out of the problem but can easily be reintroduced). (I do note that the "bad link" does shift a little.) Hopefully someone can give me an idea of what's going on.

Jared

If you run the domain review and then export a very high resolution graphic of your domain specification, you can see where the problem is.

The second region exclusion (orange) has what looks like a pinch-out. It is also very close to the first exclusion. You should check your points of the domain and make sure that they do not pinch-out or cross.

If you intend for this region to pinch-out, then you need a third exclusion.

Hey,

I'm still not sure what this "bad link" is. I note that the point that it says the bad link is at (if that's how you say it) is not inside the orange exclusion region. I'll include a picture (produced in matlab). The red marker is supposedly where the "bad link" occurred. I'm not sure why the narrow exclusion region should contribute to a "bad link" outside the exclusion region. (I.e. why is this "the problem"?)

There should be no pinch-out and no crossing. The boundaries should be as drawn here. If need be, I can mesh this by hand and feed it into FlexPDE. I would like to avoid this however. Any suggestions to help me get around this easily would be great. Thanks,

Jared

The infinitesimal gap between the two branches of the exclude is confusing the gridder.

As you can see in the attached graphic, the gridder has been unable to attach cells to the wall of the sliver exclusion.

If you move the kissing points apart, everything should work.
