I'm a novice at programming with FlexPDE, and I wonder if it is possible to formulate two interrelated equations, one of which is defined in a bulk, and the other one is for boundary only.

The original 2D-problem is the following (common boundary-value problem if it were not \theta_e present):
Boundary-value problem

And additional boundary equation for \theta_e:
Boundary equation

Is it possible to formulate this problem in FlexPDE?

Notice that \theta_e is defined just at the boundary, so we can't just put it to EQUATIONS section with the one for \theta.

Thanks in advance for your help!

FlexPDE has no provisions for special variables defined only on boundaries.

You will have to define Theta_e everywhere in the domain. The boundary condition at x=0 is then straightforward. The remote reference at x=L can be done with an EVAL(Theta_e,0,z). This does not generate a direct coupling, however, and may be subject to oscillation or instability if the coupling is very strong. Only experiment can determine this.
