In one of my applications of FlexPDE, the heat source is time-varying. Is it possible to implement in FlexPDE? (Would you please also describe how to?)

Really appreciate your kind advice!

I believe many of your questions are answered in the "User Guide" in the Help package of FlexPDE. This same material is available online under the "Tutorial" button on the "Product Information" page of our website.

You can also download a free book from Prof. Backstrom on our "Bookstore" page.

Read through the "User Guide" and examine some of our example problems in the "Samples" folder. I believe many of your questions will be answered.

Thanks, Robert. I looked through the manuals and the help package, still have one question unsolved.

The help package said FlexPDE can be run from a command line or as a subtask from another application. How can I run one .pde from Java/Matlab(FlexPDE4.exe can be run successfully)?

Thanks

Your controller must have a mechanism to submit a command line to the operating system.

Execute the command:
flexpde4 -q filename.pde

FlexPDE will run the specified file and exit, returning control to your controller program.

Consult your Java or Matlab documentation to learn how to run a subtask.
