I am new to FlexPDE, and have one quesiton on boundary condition. Is it possible to specify same boundary condition(say same temperature) for each node on a small disk which is embedded into a large disk? I want to compute the temp distribution of a large disk, center(small disk)of it is held in the same temperature. Thanks in advance!! |

Robert, can you help look at this question again? After playing around FlexPDE for one week, I still can not solve this problem. Thanks a lot! |

If you are working in 2D, you merely need to specify the desired value as you walk around the small disk. If you are working in 3D, you must specify the sidewall value as in 2D, but also the top and bottom surface values by including SURFACE 2 VALUE(var)=value SURFACE 3 VALUE(var)=value in the small disk region. See the example in "Help|User Guide|Using FlexPDE in Three-dimensional Problems|Setting Boundary Conditions in 3D" |
