Hi, I will appreciate if you help me. My program is time dependent. I used summary export merge to record a variable (Temperature) in specific times. For ploting those data I had to transport the data for example to Excle untill I was able to delete unnecessary sentenses such as "FlexPDE Version 4.2.11 18:52:44 Mar 16 2005 vibrational beam-just temp1.pde 07:58:45 4/19/07 " which repeat a lot and it takes a lot of time. Is there anyway to record data in specific time in a file which is read easily by a software and is ploted whithout effort to delete some staff? Thank you so much.... |

Why not simply export a HISTORY? Then there is only one header for the entire data set. The header is enclosed in {...} brackets. If you can tell your reader to use these as comment delimiters, the headers will drop out automatically.

Hi Mr. Nelson, Thank you so much. First of all, I think history holds just the last data. Secodly, history records for example temperature for all times (it uses its time step). But I want to store temperature in specific time and specific time step. For example, {0.5 second,3.5 second, 12.5 second, 16.5 second,....) Summary export merge works well but I want to have just a variable in it not extra explanation or extra sentese. Because it forces me to delete extra data in the file in a long time. I appreciate that. Mehdi

I have posted a simple command-line utility to strip comment fields {...} out of text files. Download www.pdesolutions.com/download/stripcurly.zip This is a self-extracting archive containing stripcurly.exe Run stripcurly filename from the command line. The stripped file will be in filename.strip
