Hello everyone!

I've got some difficulties with the AutoCAD file format when importing a .dxf file into FlexPDE (Version 5.0.8). Here goes:

I created a .dxf file according to the description for file import in the FlexPDE help manual: On layer 0, I stated the problem description, and added a layer for each region. So, with two regions in my 2D-model, I constructed a file that had three layers in all. (File size: 31KB)

I saved this file as .dxf. Yet, when importing this file into FlexPDE, I got the error 'Memory Protection Fault'. I then assumed I had somehow mixed up my formatting in the AutoCAD-file, and compared my file setup with the setup of the acadsample.dxf in the Samples-folder. I couldn't make out any mistakes in my file... So I re-saved the acadsample.dxf as well as my constructed file, and tried to open both in FlexPDE. But now, not even the acadsample.dxf could be opened in FlexPDE ('Memory Protection Fault')!
To check whether the problem was caused by the AutoCAD-version I used, I saved my file in all of the .dxf file formats that were available to me (AutoCAD 2000, r-14, r-13, r-12). But still, that didn't work... with the r-12 format, there was no Memory Protection Fault, but in the REGION description in the .pde-file, all the ARC- and LINE- Segments were missing.

Which AutoCAD-version .dxf file format is the right one for importing into FlexPDE?

Thanks for your help!

Britta

The revision log (www.pdesolutions.com/revision5.html) shows some DXF related changes in versions 5.0.9 and 5.0.10.

You should update to the latest release and try again.

If this doesn't solve the problem, send the DXF to us at support@pdesolutions.com, and we will try to discover the problem.
