Hello!
I modified the sample "3D capacitor" to calculate the capacitance of the capacitor which has nanometer spacing. But the result is quite different from that of hand calculation.(about 1000 times). Trying smaller MESH_SPACING(0.0005) doesn't work. Here is my script. Could you find the way to get better result?
application/octet-stream
nano_gap_3d_capacitor_meshspacing0005.pde (2.9 k)

Your structure is paper-thin, which does not allow the construction of a good mesh. You should use coordinate scaling to expand the z coordinate (see attached).

You also seem to have applied the voltage at the ends, rather than between plates. You should check your boundary conditions and make sure they are consistent with your real structure.

application/octet-stream
nano_gap_1.pde (3.0 k)
