Absolutely, I would like Mr. Nelson update us with
the new features of Version 4. I expect to have a great improvement with respect to version number, a major change from 3 to 4.
I wish new version let us to have more technical options on the solver, have a debugger and a better error messaging system.
I also wish this version comes with a better reference and user manual.
I am eagerly waiting to see version 4.

Wish much more success for FlexPDE development team.

Previous versions of FlexPDE were written in a proprietary language called BOP. With version 4, we have fully converted to C++, which should make the system easier to maintain, modify, port and integrate with third-party libraries.

The 2D and 3D mesh generators have been rewritten. The 2D generator produces better-balanced meshes. In 3D, the new system allows regions to be restricted to selected layers, which should make the treatment of complex 3D structures much easier. The restriction on vertical extrusion surfaces has been relaxed, so spheres and cylinders can be meshed without sidebands. The new system will provide a base for later extension to fully general 3D figures.

We have adopted a new dongle system that has better cross-platform support. The vendor claims full USB and network support for Windows, Linux and Mac.

You can now request spline interpolation in data tables of one or two dimensions.

The editor does syntax highlighting, to make creation of descriptors easier.

TRANSFERMESH is implemented in 3D.
