hi, i'm trying to compute a 3d-problem that contains 7 pde's and a very comlex geometry. flexpde needs more than 2 gb memory for this computing. my pc contains 1 gb ram and 4 gb vitual cache on the hd, what seems to be enough. but in the first linear solving process i always get the error-message 'memory overflow'. is this problem too large for flexpde and can flexpde only handle problems, that needs less than 2 gb memory? i'm using version 2.19d. thank you for your help. kind regards a.feldermann |

What version of Windows are you running? Most versions of Windows impose a limit of 2GB on the data space of a task, and this is probably what is happening. Windows XP Pro will allow up to 3GB, but FlexPDE version 2 does not have the proper switches set to use it. See the following link http://www.microsoft.com/hwdev/platform/server/PAE/PAEmem.asp
