Hello:

I wondered whether there are plans, nest to the moving mesh capability, to implement the ability to move move elements past one another so that (in which I am interested) to model the effects of (geological) fault movement on for example fluid flow and heat transport,

I rember reading somewhere in the documentation that this was something for furutre implementation,

Thanks,

Victor

Sorry for all of the typos in my last message. However, the question remains the same. Are there any plans to implement 'slip element' functionality in FlexPDE?

thanks

Victor

We have intended to implement slip surfaces for a long time, but the manpower has not been available to do it. We still intend to do it, but I can't predict when.

You might be able to use contact boundary conditions to implement a discontinuous displacement function on a fixed grid.
