I am currently using FlexPDE 5. I solved a parabolic problem. I want to export the result as a movie, but when I open the generated pg5 file and choose export movie, the only thing that happpens is that the movie is played on the screen, nothing is exported.

You need to use the "Export Movie" menu item.
See "Movie" and "Movies" in the Help Index.

This is of course what I tried. But what happens then is that the movie is played. And that's it. No images are exported.

Thank you for pointing out the subtlety in this operation. I will add a diagnostic warning:

The documentation of "Movies" has the following instructions. Notice the first bulleted item. You must maximize a selected frame before the export becomes operational. Otherwise, the movie would have all the disparate frames intermingled.

----------------------------
2) A new facility "Export Movie" has been added to the "View" menu.
· Double-click to maximize a selected frame in the thumbnail display.

· Click "View | Export Movie". This will bring up a selection dialog to set the export parameters.

· The selected frame will be scanned as for Movie, and all files will be written according to the selected parameters.

· Use JASC AnimationShop to assemble the individual files into a GIF animation.

· Use GIF2SWF or other conversion program to create Flash animations.
