Hi, I need to calculate the principal stresses from stresses refered to a cartesian basis. Is there any way to do this without write in the script the equations from an eigenvalue calculation from the stress matrix. Thank you very much in advance? |

Professor Backstrom discusses these issues in his books "Fields of Mechanics", based on FlexPDE and available for download from his website. See the links in our Bookstore www.pdesolutions.com/bookstore.html He does the calculation you require in the examples in the folder "Backstrom_Books/deformation_and_vibration" included in the FlexPDE distribution. |
