Dear Dr. Nelson
There may be a possible bug during the calculation using STAGES or STAGED() command. Run the sample problem "stage_geom.pde" in samples>Misc. Also run the modified programme "stage_geom1.pde" attached with this mail. Both of them run for all stages but the final results are unchanged after stage 1 (see the result file u_value.txt).
Another minor problem: when I use the "save as" command, the new file is created without the .pde extension.
application/octet-streamstage file
stage_geom1.pde (0.7 k)

Dr. Nelson The example/misc/STAGE_GEOM.PDE script runs in V4 and fails in V5. The domain are allways the same of stage 1.

Thank you , Patricio

Thank you both for pointing out this error. I will fix it in the next maintenance release.

The failure is in the automatic detection of grid modifications in the stages.
It will work correctly if you use
SELECT STAGEGRID
